Operation “ White Hands†to replace Algiers hospitals’ managers
Said Berkat
Reliable sources from the health ministry revealed that a large campaign of replacements and dismissals will touch most of Algiers hospitals’ managers in the coming few days, pending a other series of sanctions against the other managers in different provinces across the country.

The same sources added that the Algerian president has ordered his health minister Said Berkat to carry out the operation at earliest after giving him the go ahead to dismiss and replace these managers. The campaign will run smoothly and regularly to reach the southern provinces before the end of the current year.

The president was outraged by the overwhelming reports forwarded by the inspection committees led by the health minister and the chairman of the National Organization for Human Rights, Farouk Kessentini, that carried out in- depth investigations on the sanitary conditions of the existing hospitals, private clinics, and laboratories scattered all over the country.

M Kessentini has mentioned in the report that he presented to the president that the problem lies in the infrastructures, and services instead of the medical corpse. He issued a black list of the hospitals.

For his part, the minister vowed to apply coercive measures against the hospitals’ managers who were found responsible of the deterioration of the services including sanitary ones.
