Oueld Abbas: Algerians’ dead bodies will not be transferred to Algeria
Minister of Solidarity, Family and the Algerian community abroad, Djamel Oueld Abbas, announced a presidential decree for the establishment of an advisory council for the Algerian community abroad. He also refuted the existence of any action to recover the dead bodies of the Algerians who died abroad saying that the case stopped at the level of “Presenting the problem†to the authorities.

Opposing previous statements about the possibility of finding solutions to facilitate the transfer of the Algerians dead bodies, the Minister of solidarity said openly on the Algerian TV forum, Sunday, that they offered their health and efforts to France and they should have been saved their money to realise their wish of being buried in their homeland.

“Contribution of the national solidarity will be in specific cases only”, he added noting that the presidential decree regarding the preparation of a draft bill, will be studied as soon as possible to include representatives of the Algerian community in all the worldwide countries, which are initially estimated to 3 millions.

“This council is nothing more than a listening course to the Algerian competencies abroad under the procedures aiming to preserve the rights of the Algerian community abroad. All the necessary measure will be provided by the end of 2009, including development of their funds in the Algerian banks”, he confirmed.
