Over 170 million Euros represent Algeria's holdings of German arms

German Economy Ministry announced, on Tuesday, that the volume of German arms’ exports to countries that are located outside the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), declined during the first half of 2015, and showed that the value of exports fell by 5.14% to reach about 6.1 billion Euros.

In contrast, the ministry pointed to the increasing volume of exports within the European Union and NATO countries, explaining that exports to these countries reached up to 51% of German arms’ exports volume, during the first half of this year, after it reached only 5.36% during the same period of 2014.
In total, German companies exported arms by the value of 3.3 billion Euros in the first half of this year, as its exports to the EU countries reached the value 5.1 billion Euros, and reach to about 250 million Euros to the NATO countries, and about 6.1 billion Euros to other countries.
The most important ten countries that imported German weapons are Britain, by about 2.1 billion Euros, followed by Israel by about 400 million Euros, then Saudi Arabia by 177 million Euros, Algeria with 170 million Euros, then India by 128 million Euros and the United States by 122 million Euros, Russia (120 million Euros and France 100 million Euros and South Korea by 90 million Euros, and according to ministry data, no tanks or rifles (G 36) or any other small arms were exported to Saudi Arabia.
