Over 300 Algerian Schools To Be Monitored By UNESCO

Education Ministry launched the development of a number of educational institutions in the three educational phases under the monitoring of UNESCO, where the organization will apply its programs in an “experimental” manner, while it was decided to select two institutions for each phase, including the private schools, through “alluring” slogans, such as globalization, global openness and humanity.

Echorouk sources said that the Education Minister, Nouria Ben Ghabrit, oversees, here on Saturday and tomorrow, the launch of the National Forum on Schools that are affiliated with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, in order to enable the school to start a new experience under various names, such as globalization, transparency, openness and global citizenship. 

Same sources added that the forum is an attempt to subdue the “microscope” of UNESCO, through the latter workout programs, in the pedagogy, education, science, culture and sports in the selected schools.

“Educational institutions with the largest number of smart pupils who were able to achieve results between good and excellent in the examinations,will be selected, through the selection of two schools for each phase, and in every province, IE, two primary schools, two middle schools and two secondary schools, including the private schools, bringing their number to 300 schools in the national territory.

“Education Minister will seize the opportunity of the Forum for the inauguration of the Algerian network of schools that are affiliated with UNESCO, in the presence of the Chairman of the Algerian National Committee for Education, Science and Culture”.

This initiative was launched in 2008, by the former Minister, Abou Bakr Ben Bouzid, and was applied to a number of schools in order to “digitize” a sample of educational institutions, to keep pace with the technological developments, especially since the private education institutions had taken a step forward in the field of modern technologies.
