PNA Forces Foil Attempts to Introduce Over 13 Quintals of Cannabis Via Morocco

The National People’s Army detachments thwarted attempts to smuggle more than 13 quintals of processed cannabis across the border with Morocco, as 40 drug dealers were arrested during operations carried out between October 2 and 8, 2024.
According to a statement by the Ministry of National Defense, over 64,133 hallucinogenic tablets were seized and five backup elements working for terrorist groups were arrested.
According to the same source, the Algerian armed forces arrested 126 people. They seized 44 vehicles, 171 generators, and 90 jackhammers, in addition to quantities of a mixture of raw gold, stones, explosives, blasting equipment and equipment used in illegal gold prospecting operations.
In a related context, 37 other people were arrested and 10 hunting rifles, 04 Kalashnikov machine guns, an automatic pistol, 30,810 litres of fuel and 71.2 tons of food intended for smuggling and speculation were seized in separate operations across the national territory.
Furthermore, the Coast Guard services foiled illegal immigration attempts, rescuing 304 people and arresting 160 illegal immigrants of different nationalities.
