Police break up RCD protests in Algiers: Youth attack opposition politician Said Saadi
Pro-regime supporters attacked protesters and tried to attack prominent opposition politician Said Saadi in Algiers here on Saturday.
A group of youths tried to attack Said Sadi, the president of the Rally for Culture and Democracy (RCD) Said Saadi, Echorouk sources said.
Dozens of youths wearing banners supporting Abdelaziz Bouteflika, forced Saadi to flee in his car after they threatened to kill him in the al-Madania neighbourhood of Algiers.
Last Saturday, about sixty people, who attempted to march Saturday from Martyrs Square to National Concord Square, but have been prevented by the police. RCD leader Said Saadi stepped over the police car but security men took him down to the ground in a ridiculous scene.
Head of the Rally for Culture and Democracy (RCD), Said Sadi, and president of the Algerian League for Human Rights Defence (LADDH), Ali Yahia Abdenour participated in this march, initiated by the National Coordination for Change and Democracy (CNCD-parties).
