Police record heaviest toll of sexual assault on children

Security services registered in 2013 the heaviest toll of sexual assault on children since independence, with an estimated 100 cases compared with 2012, which recorded more than 1,700 cases, while in 2011 they recorded 1,500 cases of sexual abuse of innocence, and on a sensitization about the phenomenon of child delinquency, same services revealed a scary numbers about the involvement of innocence in the worst kinds of crime, including the killings and drug consumption.
Although Security Services declared on the decline of delinquency rate of 13% in terms of quantity, but in 2013 they recorded a frightening and terrifying rise of the quality of crimes against children, including cases of sexual abuse on kids, which rose to 1818 cases, in addition to an unprecedented rise of the crimes of kidnapping against more than 256 children for sexual and material reasons, according to their reports, which announced that 14 children became victims of intentional murder, including three of them who have been subjected to sexual abuse in both Constantine and Mostaganem.
For its part, Ms. Messaoudene revealed on proceeds about the “Year of Algeria for the prevention in urban areas”, which she submitted on Monday at the forum of national security, saying; “6,321 cases of children involved in violence in all its forms, including 510 who were referred to justice and were placed in specialized centers for juvenile delinquency”.
For his part, the representative of the Public Security Directorate, Rabeh Zeouaoui said; “370 awareness campaigns were organised on the level of popular neighborhoods in 2013, and 1053 cases of consuming various kinds of drugs were registered, including 600 cases, which have been forwarded to the specialized hospitals”.
