Discussions of the draft bill on Elections in the Parliament have been the kick off of a premature electoral campaign by representative parties.

In fact, MPS of the major party in the Parliament, the National Liberation Front (FLN), have devoted their interventions to shot on the SG of the Labour Party, Louiza Henoune, who charged the FLN of hampering the President’s political reforms.

FLN MP Abdelhamid Si Affif addressed Ms Louiza Henoune without mentioning her name, saying she has better to focus on ground work rather than uttering prejudices over the reliability of the upcoming legislative elections.

Another FLN MP, Mohamed Bouazara has endorsed Si Affif, saying the Labour Party is sticking its failure on others, calling the opponent party to avoid launching a premature election campaign, and inciting the political scene with such statements.

Yet, both the Movement for Peace Society (MSP), one of the three party alliance in power, and the Change Block have slammed the Elections Bill, saying the latter has not brought any deep amendments.

The Bill does not stipulate the establishment of an independent body to supervise the elections, the Islamist parties claimed.

Ennahda Movement MP, Mohamed Hadibi, said the Bill aims at “securing” another term for the three- party alliance, adding that “the Justice supervision on elections is the biggest lie, as any of the Bill’s articles do cite prerogatives and formation of the executive committee, while the administration is attributed the judgment authority.”
