Possible injuries among players worry Egyptian head coach and fans alike

The Egyptian squad head coach Hassen Shehatta is organizing daily meetings with his assistants at the Egyptian federation headquarters in a bid to prepare for the match versus the “Greens” of Algeria slated for November 14, at Cairo stadium, as part of the last qualifying round for the 2010 world Cup in South Africa.

  • Hassen Shehatta assigned his assistant Shawki Ghrib the task to supervise the fixtures of the Egyptian local league in order to have an idea about the players’ form especially those who are ticked on the agenda of the head coach pending the decisive match.
  • The Egyptian staff has decided to organize a five day training camp in the region of Aswan, where the Egyptian squad is set to play a friendly match on November 3 or 4 against Malawi, Zimbabwe or Mozambique.
  •
  • Shehatta resorted to play against a squad made up of local players because the mentioned dates are not included in the FIFA calendar, thus its very hard to play against a squad which relies on elements who play in the European leagues.
  • The Egyptian squad will fly to Aswan on October 31 and come back to Cairo on November5, and then the players will have a day off to resume their training camp as from November 7 until the D day.
  • The Egyptian will disclose the list of the players on October 26, soon after the wrap up of the eight round of the Egyptian league. As to the professionals who play overseas, Shehatta will rely on Hossni Abd Rebou, Mohammed Zidane, Mohammed Shawki and Dodi Al Djebas.
  • The Egyptian Federation Executive Board has fixed the date of November 11, as a starting point for the selling of the tickets, three days only before the match in a move to avoid speculations on the black market.
  • It should be noted that the match will take place at Cairo stadium before more than 70 thousand fans.
