Various Algerian localities noticed peaceful days during the first two weeks of Ramadan, as the security services foiled several terrorist plots during this holy month in the main strongholds of the terrorist groups, particularly the Salafist Group “GSPC” or “AQIM”.

 

  • Observers to the security matter in Algeria, think that the military operations by the Algerian forces a few weeks ago after the escalation of terrorist attacks, highlighted by the assassination of 14 soldiers in Tipaza, and the siege of the terrorist groups in their main areas of activity, thing which led to a decline of terrorist attacks during Ramadan, however, the observers said the GSPC was aiming to lift the siege on its elements but it has struggled to achieve this aim, and because it wanted to prove existence.

  • The army command had ended, before Ramadan, the distribution of its elements in the mountainous regions that are near from the terrorists’ environment and their areas of movement in the framework of the expansion of security coverage and cut the road in front of their crawl and infiltration who tried to move in small groups from one area to another.
