President Tebboune: “There is no alternative but to intensify pressure and impose sanctions on the Zionist occupier to stop the genocidal war”

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed in a speech during the Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh, that there is no alternative but to intensify pressure on the Israeli occupier diplomatically, politically, and economically, as well as to impose sanctions on it, to deter it and stop its genocidal war on Gaza and Lebanon.

On Monday, Foreign Minister Ahmed Attaf delivered the President’s speech at the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit in his capacity as the personal representative.
The President of the Republic announced in his speech that Algeria will respond to the request made to it by this summit to reintroduce the issue of full membership for the State of Palestine in the United Nations.

The President warned against an “existential threat” to the Palestinian cause amid the escalation of ceaseless Israeli violations and the worsening situation in the occupied territories, calling for decisive steps to support the Palestinian people and stop the ongoing occupation’s aggressions.

In this regard, the president of the Republic stated, “After a full year since its first edition, the second ‘Arab-Islamic’ summit convenes to record that the existential threat to our central cause is becoming more certain and growing before our eyes and the eyes of the international community.”

He added, “There is no horizon to put an end to the ongoing genocide in Gaza, no horizon to shield Lebanon from its extension, and no horizon to stop the escalation of Israeli settlement occupation and curb its momentum in igniting a comprehensive regional war, and above all this and that, there is the danger of liquidating the Palestinian cause”.

The president of the Republic also affirmed that the goal of liquidating the Palestinian cause is first through emptying the Palestinian national project of its substance, in a studied, systematic, and meticulously conceived and executed manner.

The President of the Republic also pointed out that the resolution of the Palestinian issue also involves negating the idea of a Palestinian state and excluding its establishment as a central condition for a just, permanent, and final solution to the “Arab-Israeli” conflict.

In this regard, the president of the Republic added, “The resolution of the Palestinian issue lies in the definitive eradication of the land-for-peace principle, amidst the Israeli settlement occupation’s insistence on the illusion of achieving peace tailored to its own desires and ambitions, without the slightest consideration for what international legitimacy has established in terms of rules and regulations, foremost of which is the inevitability of ending the occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands.”

“With the same level of commitment, Algeria will respond to the request directed to it by this summit to reintroduce the issue of full membership for the State of Palestine in the United Nations,” The president of the republic affirmed in his message to the summit participants.

The President of the Republic added, “In light of this tragic situation, my country has worked since its accession to the Security Council to keep the spotlight constantly on the Palestinian issue in particular, and on the developments in the Middle East region in general.”

The president of the republic underlined that the first conviction that remains steadfast is that there is no alternative but to intensify pressure on the Israeli occupier diplomatically, politically, and economically. And sanctions, such as suspending the Israeli occupier’s membership in the United Nations and imposing an arms embargo against it, remain the only measures capable of deterring the latter and forcing it to stop its war on Gaza and Lebanon, as well as its escalation in the region.

The President of the Republic further underscored, “There is no alternative, secondly, but to value the political, diplomatic, and legal gains achieved by the Palestinian cause to thwart the Israeli plans aimed at liquidating it and erasing its landmarks.” And the international coalition to support the two-state solution represents an important step to preserve the constants and components of the independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

“We must stand united around our Palestinian brothers and our Lebanese brothers, because the future of Gaza after the war should be determined by the Palestinians first and foremost, and last but not least. The same goes for the future of Lebanon after the war, which should remain solely in the hands of the Lebanese, without anyone else”, the President of the Republic stressed in his message.
