Presidential Elections 2014: 25 billionaires to finance Bouteflika's campaign

A senior official at the Forum of Heads of Enterprises told Echorouk; “Parties that are calculated on the perimeter of the President held closed meetings in the capital, to convince businessmen and heads of the Patrona organizations to support his Fourth Term, and provide financial funding for the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika”.

“Heads of private institutions have told the sponsor of the closed meetings about refusing mechanisms of pressure and maneuvering. This practice will completely blow up the forum of heads of enterprises and other Patrona organizations that pursue its approach”.

“Heads of these institutions contacted personalities from the periphery of the president and complained of what they described as the pressures they face under the guise of financing the election campaign of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika”.

Many heads of private companies said they prefer moving individually outside the regulatory framework in order to ensure secrecy in the political choice of each one of them, especially after a head of a family business tried to get written commitments of his colleagues in the forum of heads of enterprises during the closed-door meeting that was held in an Algiers’ hotel last week.

A dangerous polarization in the forum of heads of enterprises may lead to blow up the Forum after the elections, especially after exchanging accusations between members about the information that was leaked about the Fourth Term defenders, and their opponents, to the point of exposing some of those who benefited from personal advantages after supporting the third term in 2009, as data within the Forum, two weeks ago, said that former officials in the Forum received huge estates in Algiers and major projects in return for their support, while others got some permits for the representation of foreign brands and permission to work in the import sector from the Ministries of Finance and Commerce, and some got large public banking loans, as their number exceeds more than 25 businessmen who were able to collect the wealth of billions of dollars in less than 10 years, and some of them have today a book of orders in the sectors of infrastructure, housing, public works and irrigation worth more than $ 5 billion at the very least, according to the figures which circulated among the businessmen on the recent tripartite.

Official statistics that were leaked deliberately among members of the forum of heads of enterprises, show that the turnover reached about 50,000 import companies that are controlled by the barons of the black market, which exceeded last year 40 billion dollars, which are ready to finance the “acts of thuggery” against everyone tempting to disturb the Fourth Term Train.
