Presidential Elections 2014: Monitoring Commission uncovers 24 law violations
National Elections Monitoring Commission counts 23 issues that are mostly related to the “anarchical publication of advertising posters” for the electoral campaign, at a time it resorts to notifying the General Prosecutor of Bouira judicial council to take the necessary measure against the acts of vandalism in the places where the posters were posted.
Vice president of the commission, Abdelouafi Khelifi, the monitoring commission received 24 notifications and decided about 23 of them, while one notification is under consultation between the members of the committee for final decision.
“Majority of these cases are related to the anarchical publication of advertising posters”, that are related to the candidates. 85% of these notifications were registered by the members of the monitoring commission and their assistants through the registers of viewing that were edited after registering clear violations of the provisions of organic law on regularizing the elections”, he told APS.
“Most of these notifications are related to placing advertising posters of candidates in places that are not legally authorized for that activity or outside the fixed timing, on the grounds that law forced the candidates to past the electoral advertisement in places that were allocated for every candidate, as the activity should be done from 7 am to 8 pm during the electoral campaign’s period”.
