Abdelkader Omar, Nourredine Chighara and former minister AhmedMerani accepted to support Benflis because they want to join the political scene once again.

The man No 2 in the FIS Ali Benhadj said meetings are held between senior members of the party and Benflis.

“There is a meeting between the former head of government and leading members Ali Djeddi, Kamal Guemazi and not Abdelkader Boukhemkhem and senior members at the FIS. The call each other and other members of all the political trends to exchange opinions and discuss issues the Algerian people are interested in,” said Benhadj on a website.

“Those meetings should not be misunderstood due to false deductions and press articles,” he added.
