Psychologists freeze their strike awaiting their General Assembly

The emergency chamber of the court of Algiers yesterday, ordered the psychologists, who went on a strike since April 18, to stop their movement and resume work following a complaint lodged by the health ministry judging the protest illegal.

  • The psychologists’ union general secretary yielded to the decision and called on the professionals of the sector to resume their activities pending the next General Assembly slated for next May 14.

  • In a declaration to “Echorouk” the union’s general secretary Khaled Keddad has revealed “ The psychologists have no other choice but to comply with the decision awaiting the position of the union concerning the strike due to be debated during the next General Assembly”

  • He went on saying that the psychologists will lodge a previous notice for another strike and sits- in by the ministry’s premises adding” till the present time we don’t have a special status” as to the compensations’ system, M keddad said that the “ file will not be open before 2014 because of the stubbornness of the public offices department.
