Rabah Saadane opens his heart to Echourok
Rabh Saadane

Talking in a telephone conversion with Echourok, the Algerian head coach Rabah Saadane has revealed that three players will be missing for the next match versus Angola on account of injuries. The three players are: Yacine Bezzaz, Rafik Saifi and Amer Bouaaza.

  • In a wide-ranging discussion, he has covered several questions that hit the headlines recently.
  • Q: What are the news in Luanda?
  • A: Thanks God everything is ok, we are preparing amid excellent conditions either in the pitch or in the hotel, today Antar Yahia has been honored by the Arab satellite Chanel MBC.
  • Q: News talk about the likely absence of Bezzaz, Saifi and Bouaaza in the upcoming match versus Angola, do you confirm this?
  • A:  Yes, I can tell you that both Bezzaz and Saifi will be missing tomorrow versus Angola; concerning Bouaaza, we are still waiting the doctor’s report because his injury is not that serious.
  • Q: Is there any solution to substitute these three players?
  • A: It’s very hard to replace elements who did a very good job during the match versus Mali, but I’ll do my best to substitute them.
  • Q: What about Antar Yahia and Mourad Meguenni ?
  • A: Both of them have completely recovered but they will not take part to the match because they lack competition and are currently off- form.
  • Q: How are you going to deal with the match versus Angola amid the absence of key players?
  • A: The match will not be an easy task knowing that we are going to play against 11 players and 50 thousand supporters in addition to high temperature and humidity, but we will get into the pitch with the sole aim to win and I believe that we posses all the qualities to do it.
  • Q: What about the allegations which said that you have been provoked by Angolan fans?
  • A: These news are baseless, because the Angolan people is peaceful one and we didn’t face any problem either at the hotel or on the pitch.
  • Q: Some have demanded the African trophy before your move to Angola but you have always indicated that the task was difficult, any comment?
  • A: Before flying to Angola some have insisted on the African Cup of Nations trophy but I didn’t accept because I know perfectly the African scene, and have always declared that we are looking forward to preparing a big team for the future.
  • Q: You have slashed at the Algerian media recently on a radio program; could you please give us the reasons?
  • A:  I have to put it clear that I was targeting two newspapers only and not all the media, the conflict came into surface during our training camp in France and I think that time has come to unmask these newspapers and that’s what I did.
  • Q: Lot has been said about the sudden departure of Khaled Lemouchia, does it mean that the player will not return to the national squad?
  • A: I have given him the go ahead to leave but we haven’t punished him and he will be most welcome after the African Cup of Nations’ tournament because the player has given a lot to the Greens.
  •  Q: The Algerian fans are waiting for a big achievement versus Angola, what can you say?
  • A: I promise that we will do our best to beat them and honor our country.
