Réda City 16
It was at 14 hours in the afternoon that the Algerian rap singer Réda City 16 entered the newsroom of “Echorouk” newspaper crying and loudly expressing his deep anger and resentment at the unspeakable violence unleashed by frenzied Egyptian rogues against the Algerian fans before and after the Egypt-Algeria qualifier on November 14th in Cairo.

Réda City 16 who was himself the target of this horrible outbreak of violence along with scores of other Algerian fans in the Egyptian capital, affirmed that several Algerian fans were killed and dozens of others wounded in Cairo.

No official casualty tally has been released but our interlocutor emphasized that he saw for himself an Algerian fan dying adding that he draped the victim with a blood stained Algerian flag after a street attack carried out by a horde of Egyptian supporters with the overt blessing of the Egyptian security forces who were wrongly supposed to ensure the protection of the Algerians.

Réda City 16 added that the attacking Egyptian mobs had been aided and abetted by callous Egyptian policemen who led the helpless Algerian fans into “snares” among the small streets of Cairo where they were received with knives, sticks and a barrage of stone – throwing.
-
-
The trapped Algerian fans who did absolutely nothing at all to provoke the Egyptian side, were subjected to a “hell-like” situation before and after the Egypt – Algeria match, he asserted with deep emotion.
-
-
Even a pregnant Algerian woman who was with the Algerian fans on board a bus together with her husband was not spared by the cowardly Egyptian rogues, said our interlocutor adding that this hapless woman who was also injured during a stone-throwing attack unfortunately lost her baby after being admitted to hospital in Cairo.

-
Her husband, he said, fainted after being hit by a hail of stones. Réda City 16 finally indicated that he and the other Algerian fans were still shocked at the senseless and cowardly wave of violence unleashed against them by overzealous and misguided Egyptian supporters during their short stay in Cairo.
