Radical changes reach the most important Algerian institutions in the French Marseilles, where one of the largest Algerian communities in the world, and the remarkable thing is that changes took place simultaneously starting from the consulate to Air Algérie official and the representative of the National Company for Maritime Transport.

The first change, which is considered the most important in the south of France, happens for the first time in 22 years and is represented in changing the Consul of Algeria in this city, Abdelhamid Saidi, who stayed in office for more than 22 years, particularly since 1994, as Rouibeh Boudjema succeeds him as the new consul of Algeria in the capital of the French North Lille.

Yousef Bouaboune, who is one of the Algerian community activists in Marseille told Echorouk that the new consul in Marseilles attends the events of Algeria in order to grant an opportunity for all Algerian competencies in France and in Marseille in particular to participate in reforms. Consulate adopted new procedures in providing the transfer of illegal immigrants’ corpses in the area of jurisdiction of Marseille Consulate, and the allocation of days for the Algerian illegal immigrants, who do not have residency documents in order to get close to them.

“The community breathed a sigh of relief about the biometric passports’ files, a case that made a bad image of Algeria in Marseille given the reception conditions of migrants and chaos, and others. Consulate headquarters were expanded with about 300 square meters and the mobile consulate is activated to collect the biometric files.”

A change reached Air Algérie Marseilles, where a new official was appointed; who is Othman Talhaoui, who was formerly in charge of Adrar Airport, and succeeded the former official Achour, and immediately after his appointment, the re-structuring of Air Algérie took place in the cities of Southern France.

Change also reaches the national company for travelers’ maritime transport, where captain Asaad Kamal succeeded the former official Khabato Omar, and a special action plan of the company was activated, and services that were passing through the French company “SNSM” belong to the national company like transit, cleaning the ship from the inside by agents who belong to it, which is reflected in the decline of ticket prices.
