RCD to be punished : Yazid Zerhouni

The minister of Interior, Yazid Zarhouni, said Friday that justice will pursuit the RCD political party after the incident of replacing the Algerian flag with a black scarf according to legal provisions.   

• Zerhouni confirmed “The legal provisions criminalize this act and oblige all the political parties and organizations to lift the national flag on their premises”.
• “The act by RCD is an assault against the Algerian national identity,” he added.
• In another context, Zerhouni revealed that government spent five to six billion dinars on the presidential elections.
• “The government gave six tickets for the candidates who travelled across Algeria during their electoral campaign. Each candidate got 15.000 dinars in order to cover other costs of the electoral campaign. This assistance was controlled by the National Political Committee to control the presidential elections,” he added.
