Human rights activists and associates of civil society organizations that are active in the file of illegal immigrats and those who are lost in the waters, claim that among the main reasons for the deportation of the Algerian illegal immigrants who arrived in Spain in November were the riots which they organized at the level of the Archidona prison, and their families’ protests outside the prison as well.

“Spanish government does not accept extortion”;  in this statement, human rights activists and associates of national and foreign associations justified the deportation of the Algerian illegal immigrants, particularly those who reached the coast of Cartagena in two days in last November, where a group of young people protested in the “Malaga” Archidona prison after the detention of more than 500 people, as a forced measure due to the overcrowding of immigrant centers, and because of the difficult conditions that are suffered by illegal immigrants inside the prison, including the lack of food and overcrowding of the rooms, as they organized protests and riots, and destroyed some prison equipment in addition to the waving of their clothes from the prison windows and screaming.

The Spanish authorities considered these acts as good reasons for their deportation, as their files included all these events before making a judicial decision to deport them.

In addition, the families of some of them also protested in front of the prison headquarters, demanding their release.

According to human rights activists who are familiar with the file of illegal immigration to Spain and Spanish media reports, the Spanish government does not recognize the secret migrants and does not consider them refugees until their files are carefully studied and then they are granted temporary residence documents, and that the Algerian illegal immigrants’ behavior inside the prison was reckless, this is why they missed the opportunity to benefit from residence.

In this way, the Spanish security services deal with all migrants even after they have left the immigration centers, and those who do not have residence documents are deported only if they were subjected to violent behavior or involvement in certain crimes.

Previously in November, a number of illegal immigrants, especially kids and women were released, while dozens were deported, and some of them are placed under control on behavior.

Some groups of illegal immigrants that arrived in Spain before November human wave have benefited from the release and temporary residence documents, unless they have provoked riots or violence.

On the other hand, some illegal immigrants who were deported said that the riots were a reaction to the decision of the Spanish government to deport the recent groups by calling the Algerian ambassador to stop the migration of Algerians.
