Religious Affairs Ministry: Scientific Council decides that Stunned chicken is Haram

Scientific Council of the Ministry of Religious Affairs decided recently in a number of issues that raised a large controversy and attracted public attention, including the legalization of the Commerce Ministry for stunning chickens, which was criticized by the Scientific Council, as the majority of its members agree that the consumption of this type of chicken is Haram, despite the opposition of representatives of the Commerce Ministry over this decision, and their insistence on postponing decision on this issue, making the Fatwa Council postpones the Fatwa of consumption of beef and sheep that are stunned to other sessions against the decision to prohibit the consumption of stunned chicken before slaughter.
With regard to the performance of Hajj with the spread of Corona virus, the Scientific Council decides to retain the pilgrimage season and not put it off, leaving the door open for each one having material and physical ability, but the Council recommended the need to intensify supervision and a thorough examination of the elderly and people with chronic diseases and pregnant women as they are the most vulnerable to the virus, granting responsibility for doctors to examine this file who will decide in this issue according to the health situation of every citizen.
However, some of the doctors who attended the debate advised the need to postpone the pilgrimage for some elderly, sick and pregnant women, but the Ministry of Religious Affairs, dismissed the matter, and left it up to the doctors, and stressed the need to oblige pilgrims to have the vaccination cards and the announce the diseases, and intensify the missions of health and control for all the pilgrims without exception.
Regarding the loans good deducted from the Zakat funds, which created a controversy among the imams and scholars, regarding the recovery of the beneficiaries, the Scientific Council finally decided in this case, and canceled loans of Zakat under the name of “good loans” and recommended the need to find other formulas for these loans that include immediate ownership for loans to people who are eligible for Zakat loans, and the creation of serious funding formula in investment.
