Riyad Mahrez To Play A Key Role Against His Former Club Leicester City 

Manchester City’s coach, Josep Guardiola, is facing a difficult situation, on the eve of his club’s match against Leicester City.

This match will take place next Sunday afternoon, to calculate the third round of the English championship for the new season.

Coach Josep Guardiola said in a press conference which details were published by the English media, on Friday, he only has 13 players, ahead of the match against Leicester City team.

Manchester City’s coach explained that several players will be absent due to injury, namely: striker Sergio Agüero, midfielders Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gundogan and Joao Cancelo, and defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. The back-line players, Nicolás Otamendi, and Aymeric Laporte do not have the required physical fitness.

Coach Guardiola concluded by saying that he would bring in players from the reserve team, to cover the deficit in the face of the “foxes”.

The Algerian winger, Riyad Mahrez, will undoubtedly benefit from these absences, and play a key role against his former club Leicester City.

Riyad Mahrez had followed the Aston Villa match in the last round, from the reserve team, while he played the League Cup match at Bournemouth, on Thursday evening.
