Roadside bomb kills two soldiers, injures six others east of Algiers
Algerian armed forces ready for a clean-up operation

A gendarme perished and three others injured in a roadside bomb planted by terrorists in Al Akhadaria, east of Algiers, while a soldier killed and three others injured in a clash between the Algerian armed forces and a terrorist group in Djarrah Mountains east of Boumerdes (east of Algiers) here on Sunday, official sources said.

 

Details of this terrorist attack, as revealed by Echorouk sources, carried out here on Sunday at about 10:00 am. A terrorist group from the central region under Al Farouk battalion attacked the National Gendarmes in the national road n° 5 linking Al Kadiria with Al Akhdaria in Bouira (east of Algiers). Terrorists carried out the bombing using a remote controlled roadside bomb that was planted in the east-west highway of Al Akhdaria in the region of Gargour. The dead gendarme and the injured were transferred to the hospital of the region.

 

According to Echorouk’s reliable sources, the armed troops and counter terrorism teams launched large combing operations Sunday morning in Amal and Beni Amrane mountains, extended to the borders between Bouira and Al Akhdaria.

Armed troops surrounded the terrorist strongholds in the region’s mountains where violent clashes took place leaving one dead and four injured among soldiers.

 

Same sources asserted that the terrorists used Kalashnikovs in the clash and were divided into small groups in the region, while terrorist remain surrounded, the armed forces killed five and injure many retrieving their arms .

 

On Friday at least 14 Algerian soldiers perished and 10 injured  by a terrorist group in an attack on an army post in Tigzirt, east of Algiers.

 

Algerian forces and counter terrorism teams said the terrorist group consisted of 50 terrorists, including important leaders, in the forest of Azazga, east of Algiers.
