Scandalous statuettes seized in the port of Algiers

Customs services at the port of Rouiba ( eastern Algiers) have seized four containers packed with subversive toys and statuettes made in China representing naked bodies.

• The events go back to June 27, while in a routine control operation a customs agent has discovered inside the containers huge quantities of toys and other statuettes suggesting pornographic positions. The containers’ owner has declared that the containers were carrying women accessories.

• Consequently, the relevant services have launched a counter expertise that revealed that the importer has made a false declaration which led to the seizure of the products imported from Germany and the payment of fine.

• For their part, the national security services opened an inquiry on the spread of immoral toys and statuettes illegally imported. According to the customs services, this is the first time that these types of products reached the Algerian ports.
