Scholars Association: “Arabic Language, Islamic Education Is A Red Line”

Algerian Muslim Scholars Association opened fire on the so-called second-generation of reforms, which are launched by the Education Minister, Benghabrit, and asked the formation of a body that works on strengthening the position of Arabic Language and Islamic Education, that is concerned with teaching and controlling every violation against Algeria’s constituents.

First National Forum on the educational system which is organized by the Algerian Muslim Scholars Association at the “House of Koran in Algiers”, concluded to several urgent recommendations, such as forming an independent committee of experts that ensures the creation of a reference document of the educational system of Algeria, and reading the guideline law of the national education, after the insistence of the minister’s officials to work on dwarfing the Arabic language and Islamic education.

Participants insisted on working to strengthen the status of the Arabic language and replace it rightfully in all areas with the obligation to use it in all examinations and competitions in all the Algerian institutions, and generalize it in the social and economic fields, with reprogramming it in the a division of Islamic Science in all secondary education institutions, in addition to strengthening the position of Islamic Education through the implementation of the recommendations of the Supreme Islamic Council, which the participants and experts concluded, which was organized in 2002 on the reality of Islamic Education in Algerian schools, according to a statement of the Algerian Muslim Scholars Association.

“In the context of the war that is declared by the Education Ministry and its surroundings on Islamic Education, by reducing the time of learning and decreasing its coefficient, the Association of Muslim Scholars asked for programming a proper timing for the Islamic Education in all disciplines and all the people, as it is the safety of Algerian community, and the assignment of teaching to specialized professors and even including it in the university specializations, what highlights the values ​​and flags of each discipline with lifting coefficient to reflect the value of the Algerian Islamic Education, like the developed nations do in this area, like the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Japan and other countries that have experience in taking care of their constituents”.
