Security forces arrest leader of a GSPC back-up network

Security services arrested the head of a criminal network which was supplying the GSPC terrorist group under the leadership of Abdelmalek Droudkel (Abou Mosab Abdelouadoud) with explosive materials to manufacture traditional bombs and explosive belts meant to serve in suicide attacks targeting military patrols.

  • Informed sources told Echorouk that the security forces killed, during a military operation to combat the backgrounds of terrorism in Algeria, the so called “Z.M.N” 34 years old from Tlemcen, west of Algeria, whose mission was to provide explosive materials to manufacture bombs for the terrorist group in the main strongholds in Boumerdes, east of Algiers.
  • The same sources refused to give more details about this case saying that the investigation is still ongoing. However, other sources said that the terrorist smuggled large quantities of TNT across the western borders towards Boumerdes, and unfortunately he was killed following the latest investigation which resulted in the arrest of 11 fishermen from Zemouri, Boumerdes, and Bouzedjar in Ain Tmouchent and Mostaghanem, west of Algeria, including unprecedented  cases of anti-personnel mines’ smuggling.
  • Previously, security services launched an investigation starting from Zemouri port, to Bouzedjar port, and discovered that traffickers from Meghnia, west of Algeria, smuggled explosive material by sea on board  fishermen’s boats concealing the large quantities inside the engines of these vessels.
  • The so called terrorist Khaled.T, who was leading a support network in Boumerdes, east of Algiers, helped the investigation which led to the arrest of the first ringleader of the network which supplied Droudkel’s terrorist group with explosive devices.
  • According to observers following the security file in Algeria, this operation is yet another blow to the terrorist group GSPC or AQIM, and Droudkel who was betting on the terrorist attacks, particularly suicide attacks using explosive belts, that’s why he resorted to recruiting fishermen after security forces imposed control on the traffic movement through intensifying the check points and using detectors of explosives as well as activating the work of intelligence and stopping the marketing of chemical materials and fertilizers and dismantling most of the support networks.
