Security forces defused a bomb in Lakhdaria

The judicial police of Lakhdaria, east of Algiers, thwarted last Tuesday, a car bomb attack targeting the 32 battalions' barracks which supplies Army troops of Lakhdaria with bread, corroborating sources said.

The car was loaded with explosives and there was a Nokia mobile phone inside it, in order to be detonated just after its entry into the barracks with the aim of causing maximum casualties among the ANP troops.

Local sources told “Echorouk” that the case went back to last Tuesday when the owner of the car “A.K” who is also the owner of a bakery, woke up in the early hours of the morning to deliver as usual bread to the battalion 32 of the Army forces in Lakhdaria and when he switched on the engine of his “Mazda” van, parked outside his house, he felt a kind of odd “shaking”.

Then, he got out of the van and looked at the engine, there he saw a rectangular iron box connected to a mobile phone. He immediately realized that it was an explosive device and informed the security services which moved quickly to the scene, accompanied by a special disposal team to defuse the bomb which was loaded with 5 kg of TNT.
