Judicial police of Bordj Mnaiel, Boumerdes, east of Algiers, dismantled a terrorist network belonging to Al Ansar battalion which is in charge of recruiting youngsters in its ranks.

• The terrorist network which belongs to the GSPC or AQIM consists of seven people from Boumerdes.

• Sources told Echorouk, based on information, that seven people belonging to the network of support and assignment of Al Ansar battalion in Sidi Bouneb, the main stronghold of the GSPC  or AQIM, were monitoring movements of the security forces as well as collecting information about businessmen and wealthy people in order to abduct them and ask for ransoms, preliminary investigation say.

• Investigators refused to give details about this case on the grounds that the investigation is still ongoing. However, reliable sources told Echorouk that the head of this terrorist network “Theif” known as “El Farmache”, who was appointed as leader of Al Ansar battalion few weeks ago, was arrested.

• The terrorist network received strong military operations which led to a noticeable drop of its activity and loss of its prominent leaders including Belkassem Massroure (Ikrima) who was eliminated during a military operation by the Algerian forces in Tizi Ouzou, east of Algiers, that’s why he was replaced by “Al Fermache” after Ali Ben Touati (Amine Abou Tamime) surrendered.

• Al Ansar’s battalion leader Al Farmache or Abou Salama adopted, since his appointment, escalation of the terrorist attacks, such as the recent one which targeted 8 policemen and 2 teachers few days ago.

• The new terrorist cell, which was dismantled, reveals Al Farmache’s strategy which consists of terrorist attacks against military convoys and patrols as well as preparing false check points and abduction to finance the terrorist group GSPC or AQIM, which is facing luck of ammunition and money.

• Al Farmache from Ouled Issa, Bordj Mnaiel, east of Algiers, he was active in Annour battalion. He has a bloody course since he joined Al Ansar battalion in the nineties. Ha was appointed as leader of Bordj Mnaiel sub-battalion, then Timezrit, as successor of Boudjmaà Bouàlem.

• Observers to the security matters in Algeria said Droudkel appointed Al Farmache in the context of adopting the GIA’s ideology, because he is an evil leader and in order to avoid repeating Ben Touati’s scenario, who surrendered and because there are few leaders in the GSPC after the elimination of the most experienced ones, which explains the appointment of leaders who have no experience in leadership and planning.

• Al Farmache resorted to reunifying remnants of both Al Ansar and Ennour battalions and integrated them to activate terrorism in its main strongholds, which have known remarkable decline due to the siege by the Algerian army forces.
