Security report: Algerian families square up to each other through crimes and violence
2048 individuals involved in several criminal acts using different means including poison, fire arms, “white weapon†and threat were arrested through the first quarter of this year including women and minors, security report reveals.

The document released by the national gendarmerie communication cell reveals that most of the crimes deal with assaults using “white weapon” (sword). Among the culprits there are 17 women and 65 minors.

Death threats come at the third position in terms of the widely spread criminal acts in Algeria with 148 cases including threats by white weapon (28) cases and 7 cases by fire arms.

Other heinous acts treated by the national gendarmerie services deal with 4 cases concerning the killing of new born babies , while two cases concern the burning to death of a man and hanging another.

According to the report, these crimes are the consequences of years of violence that plunged the country in bloodshed.
