Italian Gendarmerie (Carabinieri) found 10 kilograms of forged Algerian dinars inside the house of a member of the Camorra Mafia gang in the area of Aversa, northern Naples, in the process, which is the third of its kind since 2009, which confirms that the Italian mafia has a direct relationship with Algerian gangs which rig the national currency.

Maj. Antonio Forte, commander of the Italian operational team of gendarmerie (Carabinieri) in the province of Caserta province (southern Italy) said in an exclusive statement to Echorouk that the operation was made during a raid on the house of a member of the Mafia in “Aversa”, because of suspicions about his affiliation to the Camorra mafia gang.

“During the raid of the suspect’s house, red banknotes that contain watermarks were found, and after investigation security services discovered that they were forged Algerian dinars”.

“Dinars were not calculated but each plate included 4 banknotes, but the weighing process has shown that their weight was 10 kilograms. We did not yet know where these fraudulent papers came from, and what is their destination, whether it is Algeria or another country”.

“Algerian diplomatic services will be contacted later through the Algerian Embassy in Rome, to continue investigation in the process. Currently the file will be handed over to justice to let it do its job”.

“Carabinieri will continue to deepen research and investigation operations to figure out the relevance of this process with those that have been monitored in 2009 and 2010 relating to Giuliano area and forged Algerian dinars”.
