Security services arrest the second largest network for smuggling weapons south of Algeria

Security services of Gharadaia, south of Algeria, seized last week end 26 tons of dynamite destined for manufacturing explosives and bombs and 100 bullets, as well as two automatic pistols, a hunting rifle and a quantity of drugs.

  • Elements of the judicial police raided three houses in Ghardaia and El Mnia, south of Algeria, and arrested four persons including a woman.
  •
  • Echorouk sources said the initial examination of the seized arms that were subjected to criminal experience shows that these arms have been used previously, proving the existence of a relation between the arrested and a criminal cell active in the arms trade south of Algeria.
  •
  • For his part, the prosecutor of Ghardaia court, south of Algeria, ordered, immediately after preliminary investigation with the accused, their transfer to the General Attorney of the second chamber, which sentenced the three accused to temporary detention on charges of possession of weapons and explosive materials without a license and drug trade, while the woman was released for health circumstances.
  •
  • It should be noted that the process by the special team of security services came after the arrest of the most dangerous heads of a criminal cell active in arms trade following the seizure of three Kalashnikovs and a significant amount of war ammunition in El Oued, Laghouat and Tamenrasset, south of Algeria.
