Sellal in Bamako and Lamamra in Paris
Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal will represent President Abdelziz Bouteflika in the 27th session of Africa-France Summit due to be held on Saturday in Mali.
The Prime Ministry said in a release that the Summit will deal with ways and means to deepen cooperation to face common challenges.
“The Bamako Summit is being held as Africa plans to offer necessary conditions for its development through a better cooperation with its different partners,” it added.
Bouteflika assigned foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra to represent Algeria in a ministerial conference on peace process in the Middle East due to be held in Paris on Sunday.
The foreign ministry said in a release that the conference will be “an opportunity for Algeria to affirm its constant position in support to the Palestinian cause. It will also be an occasion to present its vision about the peace process in the Middle East.”
“Algeria will renew its call on the international community to bear its responsibility to end the Palestinian people’s tragedy. They should be enabled to concretise their national rights including an independent state with Al-Qods as a capital,” it added.
