Serious files wait for Sellal's third government

Presidential Elections’ battle ended in favor of Bouteflika, despite recording a large proportion of boycott, and ended with it the step swearing-in the way that everyone watched, and that gave permission for launching the Fourth Term, as President Bouteflika should study many files that are no less important and many promises that were made by his representatives during the electoral campaign, that are waiting for embodiment on the ground during the next five years.

Algerians’ eyes are directed towards forming a new government after the renewing confidence in Sellal, as many wonder whether the President will realize his promise to deliver the torch to youth, through the “deportation” of old faces, especially those that lasted for more than a decade in government, and became a cause of popular discontent, at a time the Secretary- General of the National Liberation Front Party, Ammar Saadani, asked for the right to form the government by virtue of the majority which is enjoyed by both chambers of parliament, or will Bouteflika renew confidence in the same faces that made the scene and thus postpone changing the interface indefinitely?

Political reforms that were announced by President Bouteflika in the ceremony of swearing-in, and before him his campaign manager Abdelmalek Sellal, including the harmonic Constitution, is among the basic challenges that Bouteflika is relying on during the current Presidential Term, and which he promise to embody the principle of separation between authorities, and to ensure media freedom and the right of political practice. 

As for the possibility of the creation of the post of Vice President, it remains possible due to Bouteflika’s health situation, according to observers.

Economic challenge is also important during the next five years within the framework of continuity that is promised by Bouteflika, accompanied by his representatives during the campaign, which consists of continuing to embody the major projects in the field of development, and to talk about moving the economic machine, which is also linked to keep attention about the many problems that are experienced by the vast majority of Algerians, especially in the areas of employment and housing, as Sellal promised to eliminate the housing crisis completely by the beginning of 2019,

Bouteflikq also promised a new format for the accommodation of each college student who is graduated from the university, in addition to a new operating system that allows them to employment directly, with the development of operational mechanisms like the CNAC and ENSEJ, with the great promise to repeal of Article 87 bis of the Labor Law, but this will not be easy in light of the continuing decline of oil prices and the advance of global economic and financial crisis which impact could hit Algeria, sooner or later.

Files that should also be treated is the fight against corruption, which has become one of the biggest challenges after becoming an international issue, especially Sonatrach 2 and Khalifa cases, and continuing the fight against all forms of bureaucracy and bribery as well.
