Sharjah ruler’s statements raises debate in Parliament

Member of Parliament Samira Douaifiya Wednesday called on foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra to make statements in response to the sovereign ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi.

“Your Excellency, we ask you to make a quick response including a possible boycott of diplomatic relations between the two countries,” said Douaifiya.

This comes as Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi Sunday alleged that former French President Charles de Gaulle offered independence to Algeria to satisfy former Egyptian President Jamal Abdennacer.

Emirati foreign minister Anouar Guerguache Wednesday said in Twitter that the Algerian Revolution is an important phase of the national liberation.

Algeria did not show any official response to bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi.
