SNTF: Prices of new rail transport rise by a staggering 150%
The Algerian company of rail transport -SNTF-set high prices on the new electric trains, exceeding its value with 100% and almost 150% for some lines, while the old prices remain the same in the other normal trains, but the new high prices are expected to circulate until the end of next July, so that the company can avoid bankruptcy and compensate its poor performance during the past years from the purses of the citizens who have expressed their discontent and resentment at these skyrocketing prices.

The commercial exploitation of the high-speed rail which was launched Saturday by president Bouteflika, raised discontent and resentment for citizens who use the rail transport, after being surprised by the 150% increase in the new prices.

Many citizens in Agha rail station, in Algiers, told Echorouk they refuse to pay such unfair prices that are the result of the company’s misconduct for several years.

According to the prices plan, which was adopted in all the railway stations, there is a significant rise in all the lines for example in the line between Al Afroune and Algiers reached 175 dinars compared to 75 dinars in the past days, i.e. a rise of 125%, and Algiers-Reghaia, 80 dinars from 40 dinars, that is a hike of 100%.
