Sonatrach and ICA-Finance-AS Sign a Memorandum of Understanding
Sonatrach and the Norwegian company, “ICA-Finance AS” signed a memorandum of understanding to explore cooperation opportunities in areas of common concern and support initiatives to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
According to the group’s statement, the signing ceremony occurred at the Oran Conference Center, in the presence of Rachid Hachichi, CEO of Sonatrach, and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Algeria, Therese Ghezisel.
It should be noted that “ICA-Finance AS” is a climate investment fund that supports and assists energy sector companies to identify, develop, finance and implement projects aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions from oil and gas operations.
This memorandum is fully in line with Sonatrach’s climate strategy, which intends to play a major role in the medium and long-term energy transition.
From this perspective, Sonatrach also seeks to develop and export new low-carbon energy solutions, by establishing an energy centre in Algeria capable of providing the necessary support for the energy transition, the same source added.
