Sonatrach Career Contest: 9 Wilayas to Host the Written Exams

The National Oil Company “Sonatrach” identified 9 centers across 9 Wilayas of the country to conduct written exams for the first national competition of its kind since 2015, which will be organized at the end of December, to recruit about 6000 engineers and technicians in 19 specialities from oil drilling to computer science.
In this context, a telegram from the National Employment Agency, dated November 26, 2024, checked out by Echorouk, addressed to the managers of the provincial employment branches to communicate its content to their colleagues at the local employment annexes, stated that “in continuation of Circular No. 100 dated November 25, 2024, relating to the organization of an open national competition for the Sonatrach company, to recruit university graduates for the positions of engineers and technicians for 2024 in specializations related to hydrocarbons for the benefit of its units and production facilities, I inform you that this institution has identified centers for conducting written tests in each of the following nine wilayas.”
The wilayas chosen to host the written exams are Algiers, Bouira, Oran, Constantine, Adrar, Bechar, Ouargla, Laghouat and Illizi.
The telegram concluded that the National Employment Agency’s central services would later inform the provincial branches of the necessary information and procedures on this matter.
The national competition means that registration is available to graduates of institutes and universities within the mentioned specializations, regardless of their place of residence, given that the competitions held in recent years were all local and regional, where the candidate’s place of residence identifies the centre and position.
This national competition, which is the first in about 10 years, reflects the National Petroleum Company’s great need for qualified employees, in light of the huge projects being developed on more than one level to increase reserves of oil and gas production and various other derivatives.
