Sonatrach discovers an oil well in Libya
« Sonatrach » group announced Monday the discovery of an oil well in the Libyan Ghedamas.

In its statement, Sonatrach said the group consisting of Sonatrach International Petroleum Exploration and Production and the Libyan Oil Corporation owned by Libya announced on important oil discovery following the excavation works at the level of the well 02-65 which is situated in the Libyan Ghadames, 230 km south of Tripoli.

“The newly discovered well resulted in the influx of oil with 8.25 cm/h and 2097 cm/h of gas,” the statement added.

The group explains that the final depth of the oil well reaches 2753 m the equivalent of 9033 feet.

Sonatrach also revealed on its share in this discovery which is 25% for Sibex that is a trader and 75% for the Libyan Oil institution.

The contract between the two groups includes the exploration and production sharing in 9695 oil wells in Ghadames.
