The General Directorate of the national company of electricity and gas asked the commission in charge of studies to prepare new proposals in preparation for the adoption of new prices on the consumption of gas and electricity then transfer them to the commission for rate control in the next few weeks for consideration after the political decision to stop any action until the end of the presidential elections and after government refused any proposition in this framework.

• Sonelgaz also called, in the past few days, the commission of controlling the prices of gas and electricity to reconsider its demand.

• The company, according to Echotouk sources, aimed to put the prices of electricity and gas according to law and wait for the government’s intervention to support the program of investment projects which Sonelgaz intend to enter in order to diversify its revenues and cover the gap between the real price of electricity and consumption by the citizens.

• Echorouk sources also said that Sonelgaz preferred to recall the commission on the basis of the high demand for electricity and gas.
