Spain Releases 10 “Harraga” And Prevents Their deportation to Algeria
The lawyer of Algerian young man late Mohamed Bouderbala, who died two weeks ago at the Spanish prison of Archidona (southern Spain) in mysterious circumstances, has overturned the decision to expel 16 of the victim’s comrades and to deport them to Algeria.
They are likely to be heard as witnesses by the Malaga Spanish Court shortly.
As a parliamentary representative of the Algerian community of the fourth region, Mr. Noureddine Belmedah told “Echorouk” in this connection that after the work of the four Spanish lawyers volunteering in the case of the death of the young Mohammed Bouderbala, the Spanish authorities released 10 Algerian migrants who had accompanied the deceased in the prison of Archidona.
According tour interlocutor, these 10 Algerians wouldn’t be deported to Algeria pending the Court’s decision to hear them as witnesses, while six others are still being held.
According to Mr. Belmedah, the Malaga Court Judge is considering an appeal by the victim’s lawyers, In the case, especially that 10 of them have benefited from the release and non-deportation.
Mr. Belmedah also underscored that numerous Spanish volunteers and activists had organized sit-ins under the rain and at night in front of the prison of Archidona, demanding the immediate release of Algerian migrants still detained in Spanish prisons.
