Spanish Gas Natural Pays A Million Euros To Win Over Sonatrach
Spanish Gas Natural company paid nearly a million euros as a commission for two politicians in the Spanish People Part in order to win the legal dispute against the Algerian national oil company Sonatrach, Spanish “El Confidencial” newspaper that is specialized in investigations said.
These two politicians are the same persons who are implicated in bribes scandal in the project of seawater desalination plant in Tlemcen (Western Algeria), and the project of Ouergla tramway (Southern Algeria), as this commission deprived Sonatrach from a sum that exceeded 200 million euros (more than 2400 billion centimes).
Same newspaper said, in an article that contains copies of the payment bills in favour of the Spanish Ambassador to India, Gustavo de Oristigi, and the former MP, Pedro Gómez de la Serna, that the Spanish Gas Natural pays nearly the amount of 895.000 euros for the two politicians via two of their companies, in order to gather sufficient information to confront Sonatrach in the case of international arbitration that was brought against it concerning the marketing of gas prices, by linking relationships with the Algerian government before entering into the conflict of international arbitration.
Same documents show that payments were between 2009 and 2014, as they were based on the allocation of 35.000 Euros of monthly salaries that were paid for the Spanish politicians, and actually at the end of the international arbitration the company went out with the lightest damage, as it was exempted from the payment of 1.5 billion euros that were demanded by Sonatrach in the beginning, and the judgement of the international Chamber of arbitration confined on the amount of 1.31 billion euros, which help the Spanish party won more than 200 million euros.
It is clear that the Spanish party has recruited commissions by around one million Euros only, or about 12 billion centimes, to win more than 200 million euros (more than 2400 billion centimes) that were was supposed to go back to the treasury and the Algerian Sonatrach, but back-door relationships and information that were provided by the two politicians, Gustavo de Oristigi and Pedro Gómez de la Serna, was very important, especially as these two individuals exploited their friends in Algeria in order to provide consultation and necessary analysis necessary for the Spanish company, according to the same newspaper, which provided them with an inmportant sum of money later.
