Sudanese president Omar Al Bachir to pay a visit to Algeria soon

The Sudanese president Omar Al Bachir is set to pay a visit to Algiers on the invitation of his opposite number Abdelaziz Bouteflika, corroborating sources revealed.

• Although the Algerian authorities have declined to announce the date of the event, this visit is slated for the coming few days and intense preparations are underway to make of it an unprecedented success, it said.

• Large crowds are set to take to the streets to welcome the Sudanese president with flowers and both countries’ flags as a symbol of the existing brotherhood between the two people, expressed by the extraordinary treatment reserved to the Algerian delegation and fans during the play off match that took place few days ago in Khartoum, as opposed to the shameful acts that took place in Egypt before and after the first match that opposed the two countries.

• It should be noted that the Sudanese president Omar Al Bachir has sent a letter to his Algerian counterpart through which he congratulated the Algeria squad after the victory over Egypt. For his part M Abdelaziz Bouteflika has sent a correspondence expressing his gratitude for the efforts deployed by the Sudanese authorities during the Algerian delegation’s stay.
