Syrian scholar Aidh Al Kerrani to Echourouk: Bechar Al Assad is an oppressor
The Syrian religious scholar Aidh El Kerrani has dubbed the Syrian regime as totalitarian that “ gave up the Golan to the Zionist troopsâ€. In a wide- ranging interview with Echourouk, the Doctor supported his fellow scholars’ stand over the Arab revolutions.
-
Echourouk: How does Cheikh Al Kerrani react to Saudi Arabia’s stand over the events in Syria?
-
-
Al Kerrani: First I would like to thank your newspaper for this meeting, as to the events in Syria, I should say that we have received the Saudi stand with great joy and enthusiasm because what’s happening now in Syria is unbearable and unacceptable.
-
-
Echourouk: Some considered that Saudi Arabia’s reaction came too late since the events have left 2700 dead, more than 5000 missing, 30 thousand detainees and 25 thousand refugees, what do you think?
-
-
Al Kerrani: Why don’t you turn your question to the Algerian authorities and the Arab League, I’m seizing this opportunity to ask the Algerian people to pray for late Arab League.
-
-
Echourouk: You have billed the Syrian president Bechar Al Assad as the “ new Holako” but why didn’t you react accordingly with the other Arab states that witnessed the same turmoil, especially in Libya?
-
-
Al Kerrani: I have expressed myself over the events in Libya , Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen in a series of articles posted on the Middle East Journal and another article untitled “ Koran an the Arab revolutions”.
-
-
Echourouk: Many scholars have considered the dead of the events that rocked the Arab states as victims of “obscurantism”, while others consider them as martyrs what do you think?
-
-
Al Kerrani: Actually, they are martyrs with God’s will and I would say that the latest events were revolutions led by oppressed people hailed by the Eastern and Western counties including the US president Barack Obama. The illegitimate Arab heads of state are domed to be judged.
