Taleb El-Ibrahimi: our interest is to change the system and not Bouteflika

Former minister of foreign affairs and candidate to the 1999 presidential election , Taleb El –Ibrahimi said that all those who are eager to change things must target the system and not target Bouteflika himself because changing the system is the most important thing for the time being .He added that the declaration made jointly with general Rachid Ben yelles and Maitre Ali Yahia Abdennour was a sufficiently clear position about a fourth term .

In an interview given to the “Algerian Event “website, Taleb El –Ibrahimi affirmed that it is time for the Algerian people to recover  their right to elect their presidents and  no more  accept that a small influential minority takes over  the nation’s destiny .

In respose to a question about the country’s current political situation, Taleb El –Ibrahimi said “all the given evidence drive us to say that things are getting worse”. He said that he was extremely worried about post- April 17th especially when knowing that the nation is against president Bouteflika’s 4 th mandate.

Taleb El –Ibrahimi refused to support a definite candidate but he said” Making change is crucial and there are several persons who are able to do this among them candidate Ali Benflis.”
