Talking about the match versus Egypt is irrelevant: Rabah Saadane says
Taking the floor before journalists at après conference, the Algerian head coach Rabah Saadane has declared that he was fully satisfied with the players who joined the training camp that started Monday evening, adding that he talked with most of them.
-
He went on saying that he had a clear idea about the Rwandan side and will be fixed on the starting players during the last training session.
-
-
Q: Apart from the declarations you have made during the press conference, what’s your evaluation of the Rwandan squad?
-
-
A: in the light of the away match in Kigali, let me tell you that Rwanda has a strong defence, the proof is that it didn’t receive too many goals except in Cairo, but this team doesn’t have strong strikers as they content to jam in the midfield.
-
-
Q: Does it mean that you will use the offensive?
-
-
A: I cannot disclose the tactics for the moment, but we have to play for the win first and to score many goals then.
-
-
Q: You have mentioned the necessity to score many goals, are already thinking about the match versus Egypt?
-
-
A: Frankly speaking, for the time being Zambia and Egypt are the least my worries, my interest goes to the upcoming match versus Rwanda that we have to beat with a large score in order to ease the tension before moving to Cairo.
-
-
Q: Some say that Algeria has to win with a large score to avoid a bad surprise in Cairo.
-
-
A: I’m not thinking about Egypt at all, even if the Pharaohs beat Zambia on Saturday and we couldn’t beat Rwanda with a large score, I can tell you that we can perform well in Cairo, the squad that is not able to beat components outside doesn’t deserve to go to the World Cup.
-
-
Q: Everybody still bears in mind the match in Cairo in 1989 when Hosseim Hassen scored a questionable goal validated by the Tunisian referee that qualified Egypt to the World Cup, don’t you fear the repetition of same scenario?
-
-
A: It’s too early to talk about the match versus Egypt, football has changed a lot since that period, I think that the Egyptians we’ll be fair play this time around.
-
-
Q; The Egyptian coach has revealed that pressure will rather over the Algerian squad, what do you think?
-
-
A: Pressure will be on both of us, they will have their part on Saturday versus Zambia and ours on Sunday versus Rwanda, but I know how to deal with my players to relax them.
-
-
Q: Are going to watch again the away match versus Rwanda?
-
-
A: of course yes, but on Friday evening to avoid pressure.
-
-
Q: In case of failure from the Egyptian side and a win for the Algerian squad the qualification for the world Cup in South Africa will be assured, are you thinking of extending your contract?
-
-
A: I don’t care about the contract, what really matters for me is to satisfy the Algerian fans and I believe that things we’ll be clearer after the match versus Egypt.
