Tangier Rises Up Against Military Normalization with the Zionist Entity
Thousands of Moroccans protested again on Sunday evening in a massive march in the city of Tangier, against the Makhzen’s efforts to normalize relations with the Zionist entity and rejecting and denouncing the docking of a warship belonging to the Zionist entity loaded with weapons in the port of Tangier, warning of the dangers of Zionist penetration into the kingdom.
Dozens of Moroccan bodies, parties, organizations, and political, human rights, and syndical figures from various sectors participated in the protest, calling upon the Moroccan Front to support Palestine and reject normalization, in a way that expresses the extent of the support of the Palestinian issue among the Moroccan people and their rejection of the Makhzen-Zionist normalization accords that was forcefully imposed on them at the end of 2020.
The protesters denounced the continued crimes of genocide against Palestinian civilians. They also condemned and denounced the Moroccan authorities’ permission to dock a warship belonging to the Zionist entity loaded with weapons and military equipment that was heading to occupied Palestine, to supply fuel and food, considering this event a “precedent in the process of normalization,” and stressing that it is clear evidence of the Makhzen’s lack of interest in denouncing the heinous crimes in which Palestinian kids, women and defenselessness are victims.
The protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners calling for an end to normalization, a boycott of the products of companies that support the Zionist entity, and an end to political relations and the normalization agreement with the criminal Zionist entity, chanting strong slogans demanding an end to the aggression against Gaza and the prosecution of Zionist officials for their terrorist actions, expressing their full support for the Palestinian cause. They also called on the Makhzen state to release all prisoners of opinion who are being tried for blogging and expressing their rejection of normalization and support of the Palestinian people.
In his speech during the march, the leader of the Moroccan Front in Support of Palestine and Anti-Normalization (FMSPCN), Mohamed Saroukh, denounced the docking of the ship loaded with weapons without the Moroccans’ knowledge of it, explaining that this matter represents “a violation of national values and principles and cannot be accepted in any way. Rather, it must Hold those responsible for this decision accountable.”
For his part, the coordinator of the Front’s branch in Tangier, Hakim Nektar, confirmed in his intervention that “the influx of crowds of Moroccans to participate in this national protest is a natural reaction to the docking of the Zionist military ship in the Mediterranean port,” adding that what happened is a manifestation of military normalization”. He called for “continuing to boycott products that support the Zionist entity economically and militarily.”
Morrocan protesters performed representative scenes illustrating the danger of economic normalization to the Palestinian people, highlighting the importance of boycotting companies, brands, and products that financially, morally, and directly support the occupying entity.
The head of the Moroccan Authority for Supporting the Nation’s Issues, Abdessamad Fathi, stressed in his address that this protest is part of societal efforts to demonstrate the popular rejection of normalization in all its manifestations with the cancerous entity and to emphasize the strong affiliation of the Moroccan people to the Palestinian cause and that the people of Morocco in general and Tangier, in particular, are loyal to Palestine and the resistance.
“We tell the normalizers who allowed the Zionist ship to dock in the port of our country, that you have desecrated the land of the honourable, the martyrs and the mujahideen, and we say that Morocco cannot submit to the normalizers and that Moroccans are brave and do not accept treason, and whoever wants to host the murderers and normalizers must host them in his home, because the land of Morocco is for Moroccans,” he added.
“These protestors are the sons of resistance fighters like Mohammed Ben Abdelkrim Al-Khattabi. They do not accept normalizers, and the Zionists cannot anchor their ship to desecrate this blessed land that rejected normalization.”
