Tayeb Louh: “A New Law Will Be Approved To Enable The Owners Of Legal Precedents To Have Jobs”

Government is preparing a new draft law by the government to reconsider the judicial records, so as not to impede the access to employment for people, Justice Minister, Tayeb Louh, said.

“Unless the sentence in question is contrary to the position that the concerned person wants to occupy. In the case of accusing a person of embezzlement of funds, he/she is not employed as an accountant or frugal for example”.

Justice Minister described on Monday the criticism against the administrative justice after rejecting the appeals that are filed by the political parties after the announcement of the results of local elections, on last November, by the Interior Ministry as “serious issue”.

“It can not be said that the administrative justice rejected the claims of non-establishment”; Louh explained in his response to the concerns of deputies of the National People’s Assembly on Monday, adding that these talks were “an open intervention in the judicial authorities, before calling on everyone to respect the principle of judicial independence.

“A judicial decision can only be judged by means of judicial appeals”, adding that every judicial ruling must be justified in accordance with the constitution.

The Minister’s response came after the Justice Sector was strongly criticized by the opposition deputies during a hearing on a draft law on the competence of the State Council and the reintegration of prisoners, in particular the Socialist Forces Front  (FFS) MP, Sadek Soleimani, who asked why all the appeals are submitted by the parties under the pretext of non establishment.

He defended the judges, asserting that the only criterion in their appointment lies in quality, as evidence that they are not subject to any prior investigation by security services.

He called on the Justice Minister to include the sponsorship system in the Algerian justice, which was rejected by Louh, who said; “As long as the Justice Minister will not include the sponsorship system in the Algerian judicial system”, explaining in this regard: “This system suggests that justice is moving at two speeds, which are double standards”.

On the other hand, the Justice Minister, Tayeb Louh, received instructions from the President Bouteflika to protect the confidentiality of citizens’ communications in the framework of promoting human rights and protecting the dignity of Algerians.
