TendanCiel: “Air Activity Between Algeria, France Declines By 5.9%”

France’s passengers traffic in November noticed a growth of 6.7%, according to the monthly traffic index (TendanCiel), which indicated a “decline” of activity with Algeria (-5.9%).
“During the autumn, French air transport for the fourth month in a row achieved a growth rate of more than 6% (+ 6.7% in November). With the annual accumulation it reached 8 million additional passengers”.
The index highlighted that this “tempting” result is few for France (+ 3.6%) compared to its competitors (+ 9.3%), who attracted more than three-quarters of passengers in November, while in terms of international traffic, the French air traffic noticed a growth + 7.5%, an increase of + 5.6% in annual accumulation.
America (+ 13.5%) remained at the top of the ranking. In this way, it deepens the gap with Africa (+ 7.4%) with Europe (+ 6.7%) and Asia (+ 6.2%). However, Algeria has reversed this trend of growth by decreasing its activity (-5.9%), the agency did not explain the reasons for the decline.
Brazil recorded the highest percentage with (+34,1) as the major destination (+ 13.6%).
The statistics also indicate the development of the United States’ figures (+16,9), Turkey (+ 13.4%), Tunisia (+ 13.3%), Canada (+ 12.6%) and Germany (+10%) in addition to Morocco (+ 12.6%) and Senegal (+ 12.3%).
As for the travelers, TendanCiel said that the vulnerability of the French traders (+ 3.6%) to their competitors (+ 9.3%) increased during November, moving to -5.7 points, asserting that this decline is related to the internal market , with a difference of -11.9 points.
The main airports registered an increase of + 10%, as Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris registered + 6.3% was twice as good as Orly airport, which recorded + 3,2% for the first time, exceeding for the first time 30 million passengers.
On the other hand, the month of November witnessed a deterioration of indicators, with the percentage of delayed flights for more than a quarter of an hour going by 22%, an increase of 1.9 points compared with 2017, while the average of delays (for all flights) reached 12.2 minutes, with +4 minutes compared to November 2017.
