Mokhtar Belmokhtar (Khaled Abou Elabas) also nicknamed “Al Aouar” leader of the twin “Masked” battalion and the ninth region (Sahara) in the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat “GSPC” also “AQIM” received a few days ago his mother who visited him in his residence north of Mali and stayed there about four days, sources close to the terrorist said.

• His mother said he wants to stop the armed activity since he launched an “Undeclared truce” for almost three years just after his withdrawal from the Salafist group led by Abdelmalek Droudkel (Abou Mosab Abdelouadoud).
• The sources citing the news told Echorouk quoting Belmokhtar’s mother, that he assured her that he will not continue the armed activity, however, he wants “real guarantees” of the president Bouteflika, particularly after the negotiated with the security services failed two years ago.
• Confirmed sources also said one of the important businessman in the Sahara and Belmokhtar’s friend moved two weeks ago to Algiers and met with high security official and told him about the recent developments and may give him Al Aouar’s message.
• The businessman launched negotiations with Belmokhtar in order to persuade him to surrender and benefit from measures of the national reconciliation.
• Echorouk called this businessman; however he refused to give details about the subject saying simply that “Belmokhtar chooses peace”.
