Following the disbanding by the security forces of several terrorist networks that led to the arrest of more than 100 individuals over the last few weeks in the eastern parts of the country, it seems the terrorist organization “Salafit Group for call and combat” is shifting its operating zone towards more secure regions after being dislodged from the central regions.

  • Security forces have recently arrested five individuals thought to be members of a terrorist network operating in the eastern borders between Bejaia and Jijel. This operation comes against the background of terror acts resurgence in the region after a period of stability.

  • The security forces carried out a series of operations against the terrorist strongholds in the provinces of Tebessa, Khenchella, Annaba, Constantine and Biskra following terrorist acts perpetrated against innocent civilians in these areas.

  • The terrorist organization led by Droudkel is focussing on “ new operating zones” mostly former Islamic Armed Group (GIA) strongholds located in the “Mitidja” (Algiers suburbs) to strike back.

  • The terrorist have posted a video tape on the internet showing a training camp in the “Aures Mountains chain” (eastern Algeria) confirming the view that this organization looking for other outlets to carry out their activities.
